FAMILLY ACTIVITES
The area offers a wide range of activities not related to golf.
Historically interested people will find lots of places of interest, be it the ancient village of Enkirch or any other village and town on the Mosel, most of which date back to Roman times. The architecture and old framework of the houses in many a town like Traben-Trarbach, Zell, Bernkastel-Kues, Cochem and even Koblenz and Trier are very interesting, as are the old Roman sites on both river banks.
The old castles and ruins are good for exploring for young and old, just as much as visiting the medieval castle of "Burg Eltz" up in the Eifel or the ancient abbeys and cloisters along the river. In some of these places, guided tours are held in English.
Sports activities range widely, from "just biking" in the beautiful vineyards and wooded areas around Enkirch (or any other Mosel village and/ or town), to biking along the river (bike rental is available).
If you prefer to be engine-driven, there are two cart tracks within a short distance from the hotel, one indoor and one outdoor.
In the time from Easter till the end of October, you can take boat trips (mini cruise) on the Mosel which give you spectacular views of the unique Mosel landscape, starting from short 2 hour trips up to excursions lasting a whole day.
Or you might like to see the Mosel valley and surrounding area from high above and explore it by air, taking a tour in a small sport air plane.
A new adventure park recently opened in the town of Traben-Trarbach, so there's lots of fun to be had there, too. Furthermore, you could try your skills on a crazy golf course, either in Enkirch or in Traben-Trarbach.
Up in the Hunsrück, the little town of Idar-Oberstein is very well-known for its jewellery. The gem-cutting of mostly semi-precious stones can be seen on the spot, a spectacular technique giving breathtaking results and unique pieces like rings, earrings, bracelets and nechlaces, a real MUST when you are in the area!
These are but a few of the possibilities the Mosel area offers to non-golfers or those wanting more than just a game of golf. Your family will not get bored while you enjoy your game on one of our beautiful courses. The glass of wine (or 2) in the evening will taste even better after a beautiful day for all (Wine cellar tour 10€ pp).
